TSA will always be one step ahead on technology, but 2 steps behind on practicality and common sense. The same with DHS. They concentrate on the past and spend the research money on things already accomplished and only a little time and effort to take the battle to the real enemy, the people doing it and their masters. Too much time and money is spent on ways to make the prosecutable for everything but what they are actually doing, killing people. Doesn't matter if a cell phone is involved, or a certain sized container can hold just enough explosive to do damage, don't try them on such charges, try them for attempted murder and murder. And profiling works. If the majority of events have been caused by a certain profile of person, which might include ethnic and religious aspects, then so be it. You must go to great pains not to interfere with the basic rights of all people, but at least investigate enough, legally, to elliminate that person from further interest.

Just my opinion.

I find that misconception is very definitely related to disinformation. Taking TIME to research and to be informed should be easier becasue of the internet, yet I read an article that showed how many people are NOT so benefited because the info they seek is not truncated enough. Therefore, they cannot bring themselves to study or read in depth. Ideas and concepts are not as well internalized or proven. Thanks for the reminder about thoughts!

Excellent post! Making lists really helped me to get started with my prepping, and you definitely gave me some new ideas. I need to beef up my communication preps, I've been dragging my feet because I'm intimidated by all of the radio options out there.

That's a great take on a difference situation, Jerry. Switching up times is one way to prevent someone from "patterning" you. Much as hunters attempt to discover the habits and patterns of their prey, thieves and other malcontents try to work out a safe approach to us.

There is more to camo than a fancy pattern on your jacket.

Way to go! Excellent advice. I do something similar, though not quite as extensive. Since I live in an apartment building with a basement garage that is well lighted and has security cameras everywhere, my main thrust is to leave well before people are up and about, or after the morning rush is over. Same way getting back. Pretty much a random time influenced in rush hour traffic and the setting/rising sun.

Since I'm never in the same parking place twice in a row, someone would need to do a very thorough inspection to spot my vehicle in with all the others. I look gone as much as I look at home.

Well, I had a long, rambling response to the subject but I lost it because I failed to get the password in correctly. So, since my short term memory eliminates any possibility of duplicating the post, here is the summary.

Primary handgun: Glock 21SF .45 ACP - Performance & feature to cost ratio for me.

Backup handgun: Glock 3oSF .45 ACP - Same thing as the 21SF

Hideout handgun: Beretta Tomcat .32 ACP - minimum acceptable power, and the .32 ACP can be used as a small game round in .308 or .30-'06 rifles

MBR: PTR-91 .308 - Like the Glock 21SF I found the PTR-91 to be the best performance & feature to cost ratio

Fighting shotgun: Remington 11-87 Custom 12 gauge - I prefer semis since I have trouble with pumps due to a bad left elbow. It has more than acceptable performance and reliability for me.

Planned Sniping/hunting rifle: Remington 700 .30-'06 - Doubles the ammunition I have available for both defense and hunting by having a .308 and a .30-'06. Can take any big game in the US and can use .32 ACP in an adapter for small game.

Planned anti-materiel rifle: Vigilance VR-1 .408 Chey-tac. More of a hope than a plan. The .408 Chey-tac equals the .50 BMG in many ways and exceeds it in some. More likely to get a .375 H&H Magnum. Doesn't have the long range capability of the .408 Chey-tac, but it will do a number on an engine block without doing a number on the shooter.

Hand-out gun: AutoOrdnance M1 Carbine - for those without a weapon and for those that aren't shooters but need something easy to learn to shoot, with little recoil, and effective at short ranges. The M1 Carbine in .30 Carbine fits the bill. Just about anyone can learn to shoot it effectively in a short period of time. Much more effective and easier than a pistol, and none of the recoil of the MBRs and Shotguns. More effective than the .22RF.

Just my opinions of the subject at hand.
